In December 2006 the Students’ support service (SSS) was established at the University. It is the University’s pioneer project. The SSS is available to students throughout the whole training period starting from their admission till they become graduates. The purposes of the service are to support the MUIF students in every aspect pertaining to the training process. The SSS provides students with information on training-related issues, enhances academic and financial discipline and establishes feedback to detect any flaws in the way the University functions.
In the course of learning students get every assistance from the SSS: they may get information on payment procedure and terms, make arrangements regarding re-sitting their failed exams, make a personal appointment with the Dean of the faculty or his deputy, apply for a transfer to another faculty. Besides, upon a student’s personal or telephone request an SSS specialist can execute required extracts from documents (admission or transfer orders, exam records), attest certificates or applications (for foreign passport or admission to the University) or have lost documents (student’s identification card, record book, diploma) reissued.
The academic process in the University is subject to continuous improvement thanks to a large extent to the Students’ Support Service. For example, procedures for resitting failed exams have been upgraded upon students’ request, electronic testing system and certain specialized courses have been introduced, events for students have been organized. The SSS specialists poll students on a regular basis to evaluate the way SSS functions. Such polls allow prompt introduction of new services.
The SSS departments are located in every MUIF building for the sake of students’ convenience and are open seven days a week. To ask questions, students may use phone, e-mail or fill in a special feedback form available at the University’s web-page. Personal consultations may also be granted.
The SSS staff make every effort to put into practice a motto “Our task is to make the learning process comfortable for students!”.
