Economic research centre

The Economic Research Centre is a non-state research centre established in 2003 as structural subdivision of Moscow University of Industry and Finance higher education institution.

Our purposes are:

  • Organizing and conducting both fundamental and applied economic research.
  • Carrying out custom research, consulting and educational works and projects.
  • Publishing, information and analysis.
  • Developing and updating educational programmes and courses.
  • Assisting teachers and economic scholars in their further training.
  • Training and involving students and trainees in research work.
  • Research cooperation with similar subdivisions of other higher education institutions and companies by means of implementing various joint projects and consulting.

He is a holder of the MASI (Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics) diploma cum laude, “Finance and Credit” specialty, “Banking business” Specialization. In 2003 he defended a Candidate’s dissertation titled “Inflationary targeting: international experience and perspectives in the Russian Federation” in the “Finance, Monetary Circulation and Credit” specialty at the MASI.

Financial research and consulting are his major professional activities. His scientific interests lie mainly in the sphere of industrial organization theory with respect to banking sector, bank competition and effectiveness, Central Bank activities and monetary policy and financial sector macroeconomics.

In 2001 he was awarded the special individual state Scientific Services prize of the President of the Russian Federation. He is a winner of scientific and research work contests held by the MMVB (Moscow Inter-bank Currency Exchange) and the National Currency Association in 2001 — 02.

He takes an active part in scientific research. He acted as a research supervisor in the following projects:
